Mr. Okuhama possesses 23 years of banking and commercial and business lending experience including tenure with one of the largest financial institutions in the nation. His expertise is in business and commercial real estate lending utilizing an assortment of government assisted loan programs that are available to qualified businesses. He has established invaluable contacts with the associated federal and state agencies, and with alternative lending institutions throughout the state. He has extensive lending skills in sales, marketing, credit, underwriting, loan documentation, servicing and construction.

Prior to forming Commercial and Business Lending (CBL), Mr. Okuhama was Vice President with Bank of America's Community Development Division, which was responsible for the Bank's government, assisted lending programs. His geographic area included the State of Hawaii, Guam, American Samoa and the Commonwealth of the Northern Marianas Islands. Before joining Bank of America in 1994, Mr. Okuhama served as a Business Loan Officer, Business Services Division, of the State of Hawaii Department of Business, Economic Development & Tourism; was employed as a Mortgage Underwriter; and worked in the retail branches of two Hawaii banks.

Mr. Okuhama has been involved with numerous business organizations and committees within this specialized industry and small business community. He is currently Board President of the non-profit Hawaii Alliance for Community Based Economic Development (HACBED); is a member of the Loan Review Committee for the Hawaii Community Loan Fund (HCLF); and is one of the founding members of Lokahi Pacific Rural Development, Inc.
